Work with SofIA

Use SofIA, the AI copilot built into AInventory, to validate adjustments, interpret KPIs, analyze replenishment, and ask natural-language questions about the data in the active module.

Before you start​

  • SofIA is available in all main modules: Forecast, KPIs, Inventory, FVA, and History.
  • Responses stream in real time; you do not need to wait for the full response before reading.
  • The conversation resets automatically when you log out or after 2 hours of inactivity.

Steps​

1. Open the SofIA panel​

Click the SofIA floating button in the bottom-right corner of any screen.

The panel expands over the active module without leaving the current view. SofIA has context about the module and the SKU or period you are viewing.

2. Ask a question in natural language​

Type your question in the text field and press Enter or the send icon.

Examples of useful questions:

  • Why did the fill rate for SKU-0042 drop in May?
  • What is the current shortage cost for this SKU?
  • Explain the result of the policy simulator.
  • Which SKUs are currently Out of stock?

SofIA responds with rich Markdown text (lists, tables, highlighting) as appropriate.

3. Use contextual quick actions​

In each module, SofIA offers predefined quick actions: buttons or suggestions that answer common questions for the current context without typing.

For example, in the Inventory module you may see actions such as:

  • "Summarize critical SKUs"
  • "Explain the applied policy"
  • "Calculate override impact"

Click a quick action to run it directly.

4. Continue the conversation​

You can ask follow-up questions; SofIA remembers the context of previous messages within the same session.

Example thread:

You: What is the SS for SKU-0042? SofIA: The safety stock is 35 units, calculated with the Historical Standard Error policy. You: What if I change the lead time to 7 days? SofIA: With a lead time of 7 days, the SS would be approximately 42 units…

5. Reset the conversation​

To start a fresh topic (without context from previous messages), click the trash icon in the SofIA panel header.

When to reset

Reset the conversation when you switch SKUs or modules and want SofIA to not mix prior context with your new query.

Limitations​

  • SofIA does not perform actions for you (it does not place orders or save parameters). It suggests and interprets; the user takes the action.
  • Responses are based on the data available in the system at the time of the query. Unsynchronized data may yield outdated responses.
  • Conversations are not persisted between sessions. TODO: confirm whether exportable history is planned for future versions.
