Bulk upload via Excel
Update dozens or hundreds of forecast values in a single operation by downloading the Excel template, editing values offline, and uploading it back.
When to use this guide
Use bulk upload when you need to update multiple SKUs or periods at once. If you only need to change one or two cells, it is faster to edit in the grid directly.
Before you begin
- You need edit permission for the phase you are uploading.
- The version must be open. You cannot upload values to a closed version.
Steps
-
Download the Excel template. In the Forecast module, click the Download Excel button (or the equivalent download icon in the toolbar). The system generates the file with the current values of the active version and phase.
-
Edit values in Excel. Open the downloaded file and modify the forecast values in the corresponding cells. Do not change the file's structure (headers, SKU identification columns, period columns); otherwise the upload will fail.
Keep the structure intactDo not add or delete columns, or change SKU codes or period headers. The system validates the structure before importing.
-
Save the Excel file on your computer when you finish editing.
-
Upload the file. In the Forecast module, click Upload Excel (or the equivalent upload icon). Select the file you edited. The system processes it and loads the new values.
-
Verify the result. Once the upload finishes, the system confirms how many records were updated. Check the Forecast History: each imported row appears with the origin "Bulk upload", the timestamp, and your username.
Only the cells you modified are updated. Cells you left unchanged retain their previous values.
What happens if there are errors
If the file contains non-numeric values in forecast cells, or if the structure does not match the expected template, the system rejects the upload and shows an error message. Correct the file and try again.
TODO: The exact column format (names, order, data types) and per-column validation rules are not fully documented in Manual F4. Use the downloaded template as the de-facto reference, or contact support.
